Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program

Oceans of Possibilities, Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program was held Thursday, June 9 at the library. Stories were read to the participants, an ocean pollution experiment with chocolate pudding and gummy fish was held and then sea creatures were made with recycled plastic bottles, crepe paper, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and pom poms. Fish were hung on the fishing line with titles of books that were read. Wind-up submarines, bouncy balls and shark gliders were handed out as prizes. The winners of books to take home were Dash Cossette and Eva Anderson. Children are encouraged to read 10-30 minutes as part of the program. The next day of the program will be Thursday, June 16.
