The Friends of the Library will hold a book sale at the Stanley Public Library April 8-12 in observance of National Library Week. The sale is open to the public from 12:30-5:00 each day.
4th Grade Library Visit
On Thursday, April 4, the fourth-grade classes of Mrs. Drosdahl, Mr. Hellman and Mr. LaBar visited the Stanley Public Library as part of National Library Week. The students were given a tour of the library, had an opportunity to purchase books and movies and registered for prizes. The students left with library-themed souvenirs. Their visit kicked off the start of National Library Week, which will be held April 8-12. Activities will be held each day after school, along with a LEGO building contest, and students can register for prizes.
National Library Week
The Stanley Public Library will celebrate National Library Week April 8-12. The theme for this year is “Ready, set, library!” Libraries are trusted and treasured institutions which protect the right to education and literacy, and give patrons a place to connect and pursue their reading passions.
During National Library Week, children ages 4-18 who visit the library may register daily for prizes to be given away at the end of the week. There will be activities and crafts for students in grades K-12 from 3:45 to 4:45 each day. LEGO contest entries will be accepted until Friday, April 12. The Friends of the Library will hold a used book and movie sale and will be selling souvenir playing cards all week.

Food for Friends
The Stanley Public Library will hold a “Food for Friends” food drive March 4-28.
Library patrons may bring non-perishable food items to the library during this time. All food collected will be donated to the Mountrail County Food Pantry. Items may be turned in at the circulation desk at the library.
Blind Date with a Book Winner
The Friends of the Library sponsored “Blind Date with a Book” during the month of February at the Stanley Public Library. Patrons selected wrapped books from the display. The first line of the book was printed on the outside of the book. The books were returned with a “Rate Your Date” sheet, which entered the patrons in the drawing.
This year’s winner was Angela Olson. Angela’s blind date was “The Lies I Tell,” by Julie Clark, a domestic thriller which she rated three out of four hearts. Congratulations to Angela and all the patrons who took home a blind date!
