Join us at the Stanley Public Library for a Summer Fest book sale Thursday, August 1 from 11:30-5:00 PM. Come and check out the great selection of books, DVDs, book bags and souvenir playing cards! A free-will cash donation will be accepted. The sale will be held inside the library and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

North Dakota author Lindsey Miller visited the Stanley Public Library on Tuesday, July 23. Lindsey read her book while having audience participation throughout the story. A question and answer session was held about her book and her time as Miss Rodeo ND. She then signed the books and coloring books she brought to sell. The guests appreciated the time Lindsey spent with them and look forward to seeing her again at the library with her next book.

The Stanley Public Library is pleased to announce that North Dakota author Lindsey Miller will visit the library on Tuesday, July 23 at 3:00 for a book reading and signing for all ages. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!

Adventure Begins at Your Library, Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, concluded on Thursday, June 27. Stories were read to the group, including a book on the German alphabet, read by Erika LIttlefield, who spent the last school year in Germany. Passports were then stamped for Germany and a suitcase was packed for the trip. The children were divided into groups to participate in Escape from the Library, a type of escape room event. Winners of books to take home were Amelia Hunt, Dash Cossette, Ida Weigel and Adeline Hunt. The grand prize winner of a Barnes & Noble gift card was Bode Haugen.

Winners of prizes donated by the Friends of the Library were Jaxton Cossette, Laynee Littlecreek, Levi Addicott, Parker Haugen, Karsyn Gustafson, Avery Jarmin, Alycia Laparra, Bode Haugen, Adeline Hunt, Greyson Addicott, Cade Schneider, Abrahm Wisthoff, Dash Cossette, Emmy Lonier, Cayson Ware, Maverick Lidstrom, James Kuster, Hayes Gustafson, Russell Williams, Malia Weigel, Amelia Hunt, Karter Kuster, Knute Roise, Arlo Cuypers, Gunnar Dazell, Carson Ploium, Ida Weigel, Omni Roise, Kali Casey and Noah Kuster.

The program was very successful with the help of several volunteers, including teen volunteers Alexis Laparra, Erika Littlefield, McKenzie Bohrer, Alycia Laparra and Peyton Lystad.

Prizes can be picked up at the library.

The final day of the summer reading program at the Stanley Public Library will be Thursday, June 27. All ages will meet at 3:00 PM for activities, and prizes will be awarded.

Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, “Adventure Begins at your Library,” was held Thursday, June 13 at the library. More paper airplanes were hung, listing titles of the books the students read last week. This week, their adventure passports were stamped for Scandinavia; a story was read and then the students completed a Scandinavian scavenger hunt. They also created gnomes and origami boomerangs. Carabiners, stickers, balloons, keychain poppers and snacks were handed out. Winners of books to take home were Hayes Gustafson, Maverick Lidstrom, James Kuster and Emmy Lonier. There will be no program on Thursday, June 20. The last day of the program will be Thursday, June 27 at 1:00.

Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, “Adventure Begins at your Library,” was held Thursday, June 6 at the library. Paper airplanes were hung, named for the titles of books the students read last week. This week their passports were stamped for Africa; a story was read and they made African necklaces and rain sticks. They then participated in the Amazing Race Library Edition where they visited each continent, played games, learned fun information and made paper lanterns. Mini adventure erasers, notepads and snacks were handed out. Winners of books to take home were Cade Schneider, Carson Ploium, Cayson Ware and Alycia Laparra. The next day of the program will be Thursday, June 13 at 1:00.

Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, Adventures Begin at your Library, was held Thursday, May 30. Students wrote titles of books read in the past week on paper airplanes and stories were read around the campfire. The students had their passports stamped for a trip to North Dakota. They divided into teams for a marshmallow toss game and then made s’mores around the campfire. Older students also participated in camping riddles and made camping lanterns. Globe stress balls, compass paracord kits and snacks were given to each participant. The winners of books were Knute Roise, Hayes Gustafson, Cade Schneider and Bode Haugen. The next day of the program will be Thursday, June 6 at 1 PM.

The Stanley Public Library held registration for “Adventure Begins at your Library,” summer reading program on Thursday, May 23. After registration, children participated in several activities, including making floating sail boats and airplane gliders to show a couple of options for travel and adventure. Children also received bookmarks, pencils, tattoos and stickers. The next day of the program is Thursday, May 30 from 1-2 PM for children ages 5-8, and 3-4 PM for children ages 9-13. Anyone who was unable to attend the registration open house may register on May 30.
