The Stanley Public Library will celebrate National Library Week April 7-11. This year’s theme is “Drawn to the Library.” Community members are invited to visit the library and explore all the things the library has to offer.

During National Library Week, children ages 4-18 who visit the library may register daily for prizes to be given away. There will be crafts and activities for students in grades K-12 from 3:34-4:45 each day. LEGO contest entries will be accepted until Thursday, April 10. The Friends of the Library will hold a used book and movie sale all week.

Join us at the Stanley Public Library for a spring story time at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 18.

The Stanley Public Library will hold a “Food for Friends” food drive March 3-28.

Community members may bring non-perishable food items to the library during this time. All food collected will be donated to the Mountrail County Food Pantry. Items may be turned in at the circulation desk at the library.

The Friends of the Library sponsored “Blind Date with a Book” during the month of February at the Stanley Public Library. Patrons selected wrapped books from the display. The first line of the book was printed on the outside of the book. The books were returned with a “Rate Your Date” sheet, which entered the patrons in the prize drawing.

This year’s winner was Alecia Hurst. Alecia’s blind date was “City Under One Roof,” a mystery/thriller by Iris Yamashita, which she rated four out of four hearts. Congratulations to Alecia and all the patrons who took home a blind date!

The Stanley Public Library will be closed Monday, February 17 in observance of Presidents’ Day. The library will be open Tuesday, February 18 at 12:30 PM.

Please remember to turn in your Blind Date with a Book rating sheets by Thursday, February 27 to be eligible for the prize drawing!
