Reading Rock Star Winners

Students in grades K-12 were Reading Rock Stars during the month of August at the Stanley Public Library! They checked out books, read them, filled out a rating sheet and returned them to the library for an entry into the prize drawing.

This year’s winners were Greyson Addicott, Rylee Arnold, Carter Olson, Beckett Long, Adeline Hunt, Maverick Lidstrom, Isabel Hurst, Dylan Olson, Ella Hynek, Eva Anderson and Amelia Hunt.

Prizes can be picked up at the library. The event was sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Be a Back-to-School Reading Rock Star at the Stanley Public Library!

Students in grades K-12 are invited to check out a library book, read it, rate it and return it to the library August 4-28 to be entered into a drawing for prizes.

The winner will be chosen on August 29. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Crazy Days Book Sale

Join us at the Stanley Public Library for a Crazy Days book sale Thursday, August 7 from 11:30-5:00. Come and check out the great selection of books, DVDs, book bags and souvenir playing cards! A free-will cash donation will be accepted. The sale will be held inside the library and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Color Our World Summer Reading Program

Color Our World, Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, concluded on Thursday, July 24. Stories were read to the group, and they completed 3-D art ice cream cones. The children then divided into groups to participate in a library scavenger hunt. Winners of books to take home were Makenna Evensvold, Carson Ploium, Cade Schneider and Lynnea Harwood. The grand prize winner of a Barnes & Noble gift card was Makenna Evensvold.

Winners of prizes donated by the Friends of the Library were Ruby Evensvold, Dash Cossett, Emmy Lonier, Bowen Long, Karter Kuster, Amelia Hunt, Benson Ploium, Makenna Evensvold, Laynee Littlecreek, Noah Kuster, Bode Haugen, Adeline Hunt, Beckett Long, Carson Ploium, Lynnea Harwood, Cade Schneider, Parker Haugen, James Kuster and Jaxton Cossette.

The program was very successful with the help of several volunteers, including teen volunteers Payton Lystad, Alexis Laparra, Erika Littlefield, Alycia Laparra and Sophia Page.

Color Our World Summer Reading Program

Color Our World Summer Reading Program was held at the Stanley Public Library on Thursday, July 17. Additional book titles that were read by the participants were added to the paper chain. Stories were read and a paper and straw race was held. All participants created stained glass art pieces and played a string ball game. Color Our World wristbands, post-it notes and magic scratch art kits were handed out. Winners of books to take home were Amelia Hunt, Emy Karow, Mya Anderson and Parker Haugen. The last day of the program will be Thursday, July 24 from 1:00-2:30.

Closed July 4

The Stanley Public Library will be closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. The library will be open Monday, July 7 at 12:30 PM. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
