All Together Now Summer Reading Program

Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, All Together Now, was held Thursday, June 22 at the library. The paper chain listing titles of books the students read was added to and a story was read. The students were divided into teams to participate in the Amazing Race Library Edition. They raced to each continent to complete tasks related to the continent. Members of the winning team that received special prizes were Gunnar Dazell, Wriglely Husjulien, Harper Stephan, Carter Olson and Harrison Dupay. Alycia Laparra received a prize for completing the Kindness Bingo activity. Library lanyards, popping pea pods, community helper glasses and snacks were given as prizes to all participants. Winners of a book to take home were Wrigley Hysjulien, Harper Stephan, Harrison Dupay and Evan Hunting. The last day of the program will be Thursday, June 29 at 2:30 PM. Please note the time change!

All Together Now Summer Reading Program

Stanley Public Library’s summer reading program, All Together Now, was held Thursday, June 15 at the library. A paper chain was created using titles of books the students read the past week. Stories were read to participants, and they broke into groups to make their own musical instruments. They then went on a language scavenger hunt where they learned to say “hello” in several different languages, with the older students assisting the younger ones. Plush stars and snacks were given out as prizes. Winners of a book to take home were Parker Haugen, Cade Schneider and Avonlea McCarten. The next day of the program will be Thursday, June 22 at 2:00.

A paper chain was created using titles of books that the participants read in the past week. Stories were read to participants and then they broke into groups to complete the Yertle the Turtle craft, do a tie-dye milk experiment and participate in a team tennis ball relay. Super putty balls and snacks were given out as prizes. Winners of a book to take home were Ida Weigel, Noah Kuster and Maverick Lidstrom. The next day of the program will be Thursday, June 15 at 2:00.

All Together Now Summer Reading Program

All Together Now, Stanley Public Library’s’ summer reading program, was held Thursday, June 1 at the library. Stories were read to participants, a life-size crossword puzzle was created and pony bead friendship bracelets were made. A paper chain was created listing books the students read the previous week. Hedgehogs and snacks were given out as prizes. Maverick Lidstrom and Bergen Biwer were winners of books to take home. Children are encouraged to read 10-30 minutes daily as part of the program. The next day of the program will be Thursday, June 8 at 2:00.

Summer Reading Program Registration

The Stanley Public Library held registration for “All Together Now,” summer reading program on Thursday, May 25. After registration, children participated in several activities, including circle mosaic art, creating their own friendship trail mix and coloring. Children also received bookmarks, pencils, tattoos and balloons. The next day of the program is Thursday, June 1 from 2-3 PM. Anyone who was unable to attend registration may register on June 1.

LEGO Contest Winners

The Stanley Public Library recently celebrated National Library Week with a LEGO building contest. Entrants built a character or scene from a book they read.

Winners were Carter Olson, first; Kenley LeBaron, second; and Dylan Olson, third.

Congratulations to all participants for a job well done! The contest was sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

4th Grade Library Visit

On Friday, April 28, the fourth grade classes of Mr. Hellman, Mr. Labar and Mrs. Drosdahl visited the Stanley Public Library as part of National Library Week. The students were given a tour of the library, had the opportunity to purchase books and movies and register for prizes. The students left with library-themed souvenirs. Their visit wrapped up a very successful National Library Week!

The Overdrive app is no longer available but library patrons now have access to Libby, the new public library reading app. Libby is streamlined and very user friendly. Libby contains the same content as Overdrive and has many new features. To use Libby, download the Libby app, find Stanley Public Library, enter your library card number and enjoy!
