The Friends of the Library sponsored “Blind Date with a Book” during the month of February at the Stanley Public Library. Patrons selected a wrapped book on display, with the first line of the book printed on the outside. The books were returned with a “Rate Your Date” sheet, which entered the patrons in a prize drawing.

This year’s winner was Nancy Brown. Nancy’s blind date was “The Ascent,” a mystery/thriller by Adam Plantinga, which she rated three out of four hearts. Nancy liked it so much that she read the second book in the series. Congratulations to Nancy, and to all who took home a blind date!
