Blind Date with a Book

How are you planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year?  A romantic dinner, fine chocolates, red roses and a fancy card are great ideas but so is a stop at the Stanley Public Library to have a blind date with a book!

You can spice up your reading by checking out a book on display.  The books are wrapped so you won’t know the identity of your blind date until you get it home.  It gives you a chance to read outside your comfort zone, discover something new and possibly even learn something new about yourself.

Inside each book is a “Rate Your Date” card.  Fill out the card and return it to the library.  It doesn’t matter if you loved it or not; your completed card enters you in a drawing for a prize.  The card must be returned by February 26 and the drawing will be held February 28.

Blind dates may not be fun, unless it’s with a book!  The “Blind Date with a Book” event is open to patrons ages 16 and older and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
